JACK HAPPY WITH COMFORTABLE WIN

RYAN JACK has been reflecting on a “comfortable” win for Rangers in this afternoon’s Old Firm derby at Parkhead.

The Light Blues were controlled throughout the 90 minutes to secure all three points, with it being a performance where every single player wearing blue both in the XI and from the bench contributed.

Jack told RangersTV: “It’s obviously a great win and it was comfortable in the game. It kind-of played the way we thought it would and how we have worked in training in the last couple of days.

“So credit to the lads – I thought to a man they stood up and were excellent today and we got the deserved win.

“We’ll take the three points and move on.”

REACTION | RYAN JACK | CELTIC 0-2 RANGERS

Rangers have won nine and drawn two of their opening 11 matches of the season, and have now played everyone else in the league.

That consistency has been put down to one big factor by Jack, and he continued: “The work we did in pre-season. We always strive to keep that consistency, and that will be a big word and a big factor in what we do this season is how well be can handle the consistency with boys coming in and out the team and boys standing up when they are called upon.

“It is about getting that balance right. So far we have done that and hopefully it will continue.”

Jack started this afternoon’s game from the bench, but he realises given the high level of performance in the midfield area, someone will always have to miss out.

He said: “When you don’t play in a fixture like this, not just for myself, but everyone who is on the bench, you are disappointed you are not in the team.

“But it is a team game, you roll your sleeves up and when called upon, you have got to come onto the pitch and give it your all.

“When I spoke to the manager, I was disappointed but you use that in the right way, and when you do get called upon to come onto the pitch, you make sure you help the team and it is about getting the three points.”

Jack was especially thrilled for Connor Goldson today, with the big centre-half grabbing both goals in the victory.

Jack added: “Connor is a leader and he works hard every day in training and does everything right. He is probably one of the most professional players in the changing room so to see him get the rewards today for his efforts is great and I am sure that will do him the world of good going forward.”
