In A Way I Didn’t Want – Giovanni van Bronckhorst Makes Rangers Exit Admission Impact

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has indicated that the way he left Rangers could play a part if Feyenoord want him back as their new coach following Arne Slot’s departure.

Slot is set to succeed Jurgen Klopp as the new manager of Liverpool at the end of the season.

Feyenoord are looking for a new manager and Van Bronckhorst has been linked with a return to the Rotterdam club this summer.

He won the Eredivisie and the Dutch Cup at Feyenoord and later took Rangers to the Europa League final.

The Dutchman also won the Scottish Cup at Rangers, but was sacked in 2022 following a bad start to the season at Ibrox.

Van Bronckhorst also had a playing career at Rangers and conceded that the way it ended for him at Ibrox could play a part in this thinking if Feyenoord want him back.

Asked if Slot’s success would play a part if he is asked to return to Feyenoord, Van Bronckhorst told RTL (via 1908.nl): “I don’t know if that makes it difficult, but those are things you think about.

“I was at Rangers as a player and then left as a manager in a way that I didn’t want.

“Those are things you also think about, of course.”

His successor at Rangers, Michael Beale, was sacked a year later following another poor start to the season.

Rangers Loan Star’s Agent Will Hold Talks In Coming Weeks, Spain And Italy Favoured

The agent of Rangers loan star Fabio Silva will meet with Wolves in the coming weeks to discuss the next move for the forward, with the Portuguese favouring a move to either Italy or Spain.

Silva, who joined the Glasgow outfit on loan in January, has impressed under Philippe Clement.

It has been suggested that Rangers could be open to keeping Silva beyond his scheduled stay, but the signs are that the Portuguese will be heading elsewhere.

Wolves’ issues with sustainability rules mean that they have to raise money through player sales and Silva will be one player that could be shifted.

Silva’s agent Carlos Oliveira will sit down with Wolves in the coming weeks to discuss what might come next for his client, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

It is claimed that the forward is open to a move to either Spain or Italy.

Italian clubs Monza and Genoa had previously tried to sign Silva last summer but failed in their attempt.

Silva will look to continue to contribute at Rangers as the end of the season draws near and it remains to be seen if the action will be his last in a light blue shirt.

Rangers Feel Target Fits Player Trading Model, Have Discussed Him

Rangers believe that winger Raphael Borges Rodrigues fits their player trading model well and are keen on the Macarthur star, according to Football Scotland.

The 20-year-old has impressed with his performances in the Australian League with Macarthur this season, making six goal contributions in 25 matches.

European clubs have noticed Rodrigues’ progress and development down under, and are keen on signing him.

Championship outfit Coventry City have contacted Rodrigues’s agent to register their interest in signing him, while Watford are admirers.

Rangers are also interested and have discussed Rodrigues, with the feeling being he fits into their player trading model.

For Rangers, signing Rodrigues would suit their player trading policy wherein they buy a young and cheap prospect and then sell him in the future for a significant profit.

Going up against English Championship clubs with significant resources could be difficult for Rangers.

However, moving to Scotland could be seen by Rodrigues and his camp as a good first step into European football.
