Must Be Clinical Against Rangers, Lech Poznan Boss Insists

Lech Poznan boss Dariusz Zuraw has stressed the need for the Polish side to take their chances in front of goal against their European opponents Rangers.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers lock horns with Polish top flight outfit Lech Poznan at Ibrox in the Europa League group stage tonight.

Looking ahead to the game, Lech Poznan boss Zuraw has explained that the Light Blues are different from their last European opponents Benfica, who beat them 4-2.

The Pole pointed out how Rangers are strong defensively and concede fewer goals before stressing the need for his side to take their chances in front of goal should they manage to create them.

Zuraw also warned Lech Poznan of the threat posed by the Gers in attack as he is aware of their prowess on counter-attack and the players’ creativity.

Rangers play a bit differently from Benfica because they are disciplined in defence, which means that they concede very few goals and this is not the case with us“, Zuraw told a press conference.

So, even more so if we manage to create good chances in front of their goal tomorrow [tonight, ed.], we must be very focused and take them.

In attack, the Rangers players are creative, they can counter-attack quickly after an interception, so we also need to be very focused in defence.

Having won 2-0 against Standard Liege last week, Gerrard and co will be looking to make it two victories in two and step closer to progressing into the next round.
