View: Senior aces to be axed amid 3 changes – Rangers predicted XI v PSV Eindhoven

Michael Beale could be set to make three changes to his Rangers starting lineup for the huge Champions League qualifier against PSV Eindhoven.

The Gers head to the Netherlands for the second-leg of their qualifying tie after a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Ibrox last week, which was followed up by a 2-0 win over Ross County at Dingwall over the weekend.

And now the manager must make a decision on his team to try and make it to the Champions League group stages once again, knowing they must avoid defeat to have any chance of doing so.

Jack Butland has started his Rangers career superbly between the sticks and is already proving to be the right man to replace Allan McGregor and will keep his place in the team.

The defence is also likely to remain unchanged heading into the game with Ridvan Yilmaz still not expected to be fit enough to compete with Borna Barisic at left-back, while James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and John Souttar are first choice whenever fit.

Ryan Jack turned in a fantastic performance in the centre of midfield in the first leg and will likely get his place back in the side ahead of John Lundstram, who played well at the weekend and will be knocking on the door to start.

Slightly ahead of him is likely to be Beale’s preferred central midfield pairing with his own signings of Nicolas Raskin and Jose Cifuentes providing the perfect blend of technical quality on the ball, and bit and aggression off it when necessary.

Todd Cantwell has proven himself to be the glue between the midfield and attack and is now a key member of this Rangers side after arriving in January, so he is likely to take the role just behind the strikers.

Kemar Roofe made a rare start at the weekend and showed his quality with a well taken goal, but the Jamaican is likely to drop out of the side for this one.

Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers have forged a good partnership so far and their link play means they can offer a little bit more than former Ajax hitman Danilo in attack and they should start, while last week’s goalscoring heroes Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo’s pace is better served off the bench.

In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has made an “astonishing” claim about Gers in the Champions League.
