‘Crisis’ – Tom English namedrops Rangers as Aberdeen chief hits back today

Tom English has hit out at Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack during the “Crisis” at Pittodrie by weirdly name-dropping Rangers.

Both clubs lost on Saturday 2 March, with Neil Warnock yet to win a game in the Scottish Premiership since arriving in Scotland.

Rangers lost to Motherwell at Ibrox and were singled out by English after Cormack appeared to re-heat a saying from Govan as his shocker continued.

Writing on X, the BBC journalist said: “Dave Cormack says he ‘doesn’t do walking away’.

“He could have picked a better phrase rather than reheating one from Rangers in a time of crisis.”

Aberdeen crisis continues as Rangers lose

The results across the Scottish Premiership on 2 March just prove that you cannot take anything for granted, whether you are flying high like Rangers or in a crisis like Aberdeen.

English loves any chance to bring Rangers into the conversation though, so it is no surprise to see him do just that for no apparent reason right now.

Philippe Clement was not happy with the result against Motherwell, none of us were, but the title is up in the air, and everyone would have taken that when he first came in.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement
Philippe Clement has overseen an excellent turnaround at Rangers.

Celtic have not been consistent recently and the huge win over Dundee was more down to how shocking they were, rather than the Hoops.

There is still a lot of football to be played, and lifting that Scottish Premiership title will end all mutterings of any crisis, old or new at Ibrox.

Hopefully, this result can be all forgotten about in a matter of days at Ibrox.
