Rangers expert shares ‘massive’ Silva prediction after source’s reveal

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton insisted that the striker has been a major contributor to the recent success at Ibrox and understands what it means to play for the club.

The 21-year-old has found his first real success during his six-month loan spell at Ibrox since his mega-money move to Wolves in 2020.

Sources have told Football Insider (9 March) that Rangers hope Champions League qualification can help fund a permanent deal for Silva.

Fabio Silva would “want to stay” at Rangers

Hutton praised Silva’s “aggressive” display against Benfica on Thursday (7 March) and claimed he would be happy to secure a permanent switch from Molineux.

“I think he’s shown what he’s capable of,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s only going to get better as well.

“Since his big move to Wolves for big money, it’s not quite worked out.

“It was always going to take him time to bed in.

“He will have a massive feeling of love from the fans – they obviously love him.

“The manager loves him too.

“I saw a different side to him in the Benfica game.

“He looked really up for it and really aggressive.

“I know Portugal is where he started out and he wanted to show everyone what he’s capable of.

Rangers

“The decider will be the fee, but he’s understood what it means to come to Rangers and he’s been a big part of their success.

“Of course, he’d want to stay.”
