‘100%’ – Pundit View: Rangers star destined for Ibrox exit, can’t say no to ‘bigger’ league

We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…

Alex McLeish has insisted that Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara would find it hard to reject moves to the likes of West Ham and Everton.

The Premier League duo have been linked with the Finland international after he shined at the EUROs for his country [Give me Sport].

McLeish admitted that the draw of the Premier League may be too good to turn down, despite Champions League football at Ibrox.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “100%.

“It would surprise me if he did get offered the chance to go to one of those clubs and he turned it down.

“Listen, we hope that he would. I’m sure he has a massive attachment to Rangers, he knows what they have done for him, but life is short.

“A lot of players won’t waste the opportunity to leave and go to a bigger league, and the Premier League is bigger.

Shock.

We would be left fuming if Kamara was allowed to leave after his future was up in the air for so long.

The Bears know his contract situation and have been given months to resolve it, but that still hasn’t happened.

McLeish is spot on though, should a team from a bigger league, with less financial restraints come in, it would be hard for the player to say no.

Obviously, Kamara would leave as a club legend, and likely as one of our biggest bargains in recent history, it not ever.
