View: Roofe & Tavernier to be axed, Simpson to start – Predicted Rangers starting XI v Aberdeen

Rangers welcome Aberdeen to Ibrox on Wednesday evening looking to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Steven Gerrard rotated his squad once again for the 2-1 win at St Mirren, although the Bears were far from convincing.

Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos got the goals, although everyone will be hoping for better tomorrow evening.

Alan McGregor will come back into the side to continue the rotation, with Jon McLaughlin beaten far too easily from distance on Sunday.

Nathan Patterson will also start, allowing for James Tavernier to pick up a well-earned rest at Ibrox – although Borna Barisic will start on the opposite flank.

Conor Goldson is undroppable in this side, but we could see Jack Simpson enter the fold for his monthly appearance under Gerrard.

Steven Davis will anchor the midfield once again, with his influence not to be undermined in this set-up despite fewer outings this season.

Glen Kamara will return after being, unusually, an unused substitute at St Mirren for what feels like the first time in forever.

Finishing off the midfield will be Joe Aribo, who has arguably been the best player in a blue shirt so far this season.

Ianis Hagi and Alfredo Morelos will keep their spots in the side, but there will be a chance for Fashion Sakala to lead the line at Ibrox.

That means Kemar Roofe will drop back down to the bench after a whirlwind month including plenty of travelling that could soon catch up with him.

Here’s how we expect the Bears to lineup…
