‘Last chance’ – Ally McCoist delivers strong Rangers verdict ahead of CL clash v Napoli

Ally McCoist has suggested that Rangers need to be aggressive against Napoli if they want to get something from this game.

The Bears are yet to pick up a point from four games in the Champions League, and they have only two games left to salvage pride.

The Gers legend has said that this is the “last chance” for them to turn things around as they face the Naples club on Wednesday in the Champions League.

“It’s big. If we want to continue in the Europa League then we need to get something out of the game, with the other result going our way,” said McCoist on TalkSPORT, as relayed by The Daily Record (24 October).

“This is our last chance. It’s going to be hard, but we are going to try. It’s a tough tournament but it’s a really good opportunity to change it. We need to get our form back, play better and more aggressive. It’s time to act and it has to start at Napoli.”

Difficult

It looks really difficult for the Gers to pick up a victory against Napoli who have already qualified for the knock-out stages.

Napoli defeated Liverpool 4-1 in the group stage and they have been really impressive this season.

It will require a gigantic effort from the Gers to pick up all three points.

The only hope is that Napoli could field a weak side for the game in order to give rest to some of their senior players. Even then, they are well equipped enough to provide a strong challenge.

Rangers

Meanwhile, the Bears are going through a crisis at the moment. Not only they are missing several key players through injuries, but their manager, Van Bronckhorst, is under a lot of pressure.

The performances in recent months have been bang average, and they have been very inconsistent.

A heavy defeat against Napoli could spell the end of his tenure at the club, which is really disappointing considering he was instrumental in taking the club to the final of the Europa League last season.
